How to read the table
DriveMint wins on privacy and setup speed: no accounts, on-device storage, offline logging, optional GPS. RoadReady wins if you want telematics feedback and a structured lesson library. We do not list an ads row as a gotcha. Their homepage does not say they show ads, so we marked it "not stated."

Does RoadReady require an account?+
Yes. Their homepage describes creating a student account, adding a supervisor by email, and waiting for the supervisor to accept and create their own account before logging hours.
Does DriveMint require GPS?+
No. GPS is optional for distance. Time logging works without it. RoadReady's help material treats location access (Always Allow) as required for automatic tracking.
Which app works offline?+
DriveMint's core log works with no cell service. RoadReady's site tells users to keep a stable data connection when starting and ending a drive.
